ummm?

That happened to me on my first two pre-release worlds. On the third try, I spawned within 100 blocks of a village.

My First 1.8 pre-release world was.... 3000 blocks of ocean in al directions.
I grabbed up single player commands and flew the hell ou.t of there lol

If only you had a few trees...

It could be a new way of playing. Limited resources! You have to be smart about how you use stuff if you're stranded out in the ocean.

Ocean Biomes. I love it.

What seed?

Seed of 1 puts you on the border of a forest and a swamp and not too far the west is a desert. Did not see a village yet tho.

Just for fun I made a seed with my name..."Alex Rybicki" (case sensitive?) and ended up with a village not too far from spawn. Do a 180 and walk about 150 blocks, you should see it. there's some interesting bugs though.

Most villages seem to be at or near dirt/sand biome borders. I have yet to find one in ocean or forest biomes.

Did what Alexry did and punched in my name into the Seed.

Now I has me a stilted swamp house =D
