I was just wondering what the community thinks is the BEST video game console in existence.

My favorite is N64 because it had some of the best games I have ever played (LoZ OoT, Super Mario 64, other awesome games that I will not post because the list is too long).

COMPUTER DOES NOT COUNT AS A GAMING CONSOLE.

Just post your favorite and a reason why you picked that console.

SNES, it's the first console we ever had, en we still play it today, some of those games are just brilliant, they relied on gameplay, as it should be, and not on fancy graphics.

I'll agree with N64, i remember the first time i played zelda OoT in like 98 and the graphix seemed so amazing, and the gameplay was so beast, same with super mario 64, 007 goldeneye, and mario party.

Although i've tried playing recently and its just not half as fun when you're use to modern, good graphix, and non glitchy gameplay lolol.

I spent my childhood as a sony kid. It wasn't till about 2003 that we finally got a 360, and I haven't looked back. But, I'll always remember the fun I had on the ps2. Such an amazing catalog of game.

Virtual boy. I need say nothing more.

And Super Mario Sunshine was awesome.

I think he means that Super Mario Sunshine was released on the Gamecube, and not the N64.

Odd... I remember playing it on the N64... Must have been one of those weird, mixed up dreams...

My favorite console was also the N64 because it revolutionized the gaming industry by introducing three dimensional worlds and the analog stick, both of which became common factors in any game/controller. Something I like about Nintendo is that they aren't afraid to go for something new and revolutionary as opposed to Sony and Microsoft, who stick to buffing up their consoles with memory capacity, blueray, etc.

Every console that Nintendo had come out with introduced something new. SNES with the D-Pad, N64 with three dimensional gaming and the analog stick, Gamecube with shoulder buttons for the controller, and the Wii with Motion gaming. Almost every one of the things that Nintendo had created was taken and used in Sony and Microsoft's systems.

So for innovation and creativity, I would have to say my favorite is any of the Nintendo consoles.

For design, I would have to say PS3. Both on screen and on the console itself, PS3 is nice and sleek. Most of the exclusive games on the console also have the same smooth graphics that kind of fits the console. Also, the games are more like how games are supposed to be made. When I say this, I'm referring to things like "Journey," "Ico," "Shadow of the Colossus," "Little Big Planet 1&2," I love how all of these games are a welcome change from the shoot em' ups that you usually see and have more of a creative feel to them.

I own an Xbox, my least favorite console. It breaks down a lot, it's slow, Microsoft is getting greedy, the Xbox live Gold costs money, the only exclusives on there are shoot em' ups. I don't like it, but it's a good time-killer.

crap. from what i have seen, ps3 is really good while xbox 360 is not quite good and breaks down? i will most likely get an xbox for my birthday.
