Anyone good with computers?

Hey guys, so I purchased a bluetooth dongle to connect my speaker to my computer because the jack is broken, and it worked fine yesterday. Today though I switched on my computer and my speaker had disconnected. I clicked reconnect but nothing happened and it seems to have paired to my computer but I can't seem to get the audio to come out of the speaker. When I go into audio output devices my speaker isn't an option, basically, my problem is that my speaker is technically "paired" but it wont actually "connect"? sorry for being vague, but I'm terrible with these things. I believe the problem is with my drivers? I don't know what that is but if anyone could help that'd be super. I have a windows 7 64 bit.
thanks
edit: I've looked online for solutions but I haven't found anything of use

if you're in your sound options. Try setting those speakers as your default speakers? Maybe try turning your Bluetooth off and back on. The basic troubleshooting.

Thanks for the reply river, but that's just the problem. Although the speakers are discovered and paired I am unable to find it in the playback section(that's where the default option is)
I've spent 4 hours today trying to fix it, it's a compete nightmare to try and solve.

Check in device manager and make sure there are no yellow exclamation marks next to your hardware devices. It could be the drivers didn't fully install or need updating.
Also maybe remove the bluetooth dongle and plug it back in again?

There is sometimes a yellow exclamation mark... so i troubleshoot it.. the troubleshooter takes literally forever and tells me a driver needs to be updated. So, I attempt to update the driver but it says that the best driver is already in the system so idk :p
tried it!
Okay so today it looks a little easier... when I right click the sound icon and I go into playback devices it tells me that my AMETHYST M1(name of my speaker) MONO AUDIO is connected and working but that my AMETHYST M1 STEREO AUDIO (aka "bluetooth audio renderer") is disconnected. When I click reconnect literally nothing happens.
No sound is coming from the MONO AUDIO but sometimes I hear a faint 'ding' sound when I click into things.

Try go to your bluetooth devices and click like 'forget device' and then try reconnecting.
I had the same problem today and forgetting the device then reconnecting it worked for me

Getting Windows to update drivers rarely works, you're better off sourcing them yourself.
Go to the homepage for your device and get the latest drivers from there.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info.
I take it that "forget device" and "remove device" are the same?
Chammie, is your computer a win7? Apparently it's a windows 7 error..

Bu1ld0g, my device is a Cambridge Silicon Radio bluetooth device. I've been on the website and I can honestly say I didn't know where to start. If anyone could literally step by step tell me what to do I'd be more than delighted to throw 50k their way.
I'm considering buying a new dongle:

Will I get the same problem?

I found this
link with a little googling around, sounds like it may be your solution?
Can't hurt to try.
FYI I linked the 2nd page in as it seems more relevant, you way want to start from the beginning of the thread though.
Also found a possible
Windows hotfix for Win7
