In-game music

I have a question that's been bugging me for a while now.
Why is it when I play online the newer music NEVER plays, yet plays all the time in single player?
The only new music I ever hear is in the nether.

Are you in creative mode in single player?

Bit of a mix tbh.
I don't like single player but do download maps for build ideas that are in single player according to the save file.
Does the new music only play in creative?

I've been wondering about this for a while too, since the new music came out. Turns out it only plays in creative mode, and there isn't any new music for the general game (except the nether). It's kinda a shame really.

Time to dig up a resource pack that has the new music methinks.

If you want I can send you some music, that I composed. I use it instead if the normal minecraft music myself.
