Help: Video Editing Software

I've been recently doing some streaming/recording using OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) and I'm looking for a video editor. Now I could go back to using fraps, but those videos take up a lot of space. I'm only asking because I can't edit these videos with Windows Movie Maker. When I used fraps I was able to convert them so they could be edited. With OBS I can still convert the videos for editing, but the video itself just becomes a black screen (sound still works).

tl:dr Suggest a video editor to edit OBS videos with. I know about Sony Vegas, but alternatives would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

Well soso_1 uses OBS and edits it with LightWorks. What are you trying to edit? Adding audio to the video or just editing it like trimming.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think Final Cut Pro works.

Just trimming. If I want to add any music to the videos that I post on YouTube I'll just pick from some of the royalty free music so I can avoid copyright strikes when it comes to music at least.

Either way, thanks for the suggestions meloetta and Eetrab :)

I just use the Adobe Suite... Idk what you think about that but I like it.

Sony Vegas 100% for a beginner editor. Real time previewing, tons of effects, loads of tutorials available. Definitely don't brush it off. It's far more beginner friendly than the adobe alternatives.
