Asking for help regarding a tricky situation.

So I died. For the fourth time in two weeks, I died hard.

We all have been there, right? We all have been doing things as we normally do them, safely and smartly, but then fate intercedes and we eat it hard. For the fourth time in two weeks I lost everything.... my best tools, some good ore, some decent armor. I even ran back to the point at which I had perished within 45 seconds and everything had despawned! (and that despawn thing happened to me twice in a row)

So here's my dilemma: This fourth death had me on the borderline of a serious rage, so instead of playing any further, I logged. Three days later, I log back in, still dead, and my stuff is still there! I am trying to figure out how to find that place again, which is not too far from my land but underground and likely below an ocean. This is compounded by my having turned off my visibility on the server map.

The offer: If someone can help me figure out away to retrieve my gear, then I will give them all of the diamond ore that I had mined that afternoon as a "thank you". I know it was at least 10 diamond ore, possibly 30-40 ore. Heck, you can even have any of the gold I found as well!

Thoughts :?:

When you logged back in after the 3 days, could you still see your items on the ground? If so I think its just a visual glitch and the items arent actually there :P Happened to me a while ago. Good luck finding the items :D

When in Doubt Log Out
FYI staff have acess to all your log points so whenever you die log. Then I know this sounds terrible so I put it in spoilers
Spoiler:
Play the pity card
and staff will usually give you your death coords.

Use Hacks
Or if your desperate just install a mod that gives you your death coords (must not respawn) then log back in dead and it will show where you are. Not illegal since I used shaddowcraft to do this.

Share Don't Care
Also I die ALOT and loose everything but I don't really care and you shouldn't either unless it's 50k worth of stuff then care.

or, just play with f3 on, and screen shot when you die.

If you have no luck recovering your inventory, I can help you with some replacements this week at the least.

Thanks everyone! A couple of good suggestions and a couple of "too late now but maybe next time" ideas. After mulling it over, it looks like I will just have to take the hit and respawn.

Probably was about 50k worth of stuff too.

...though I do know a few staffers who might be willing to bend the laws of space-time for me....

Staff will only give coords to death locations if the player has died due to something against the rules or possibly a server issue. We are not allowed, and certainly not required to give death logs even if you logged out in that location. Particularly when it's something completely legal. Unless you find a staffer who lives on the edge and is in a decent mood, you're mostly out of luck. Not gonna point any fingers. *stares at nearby mirror*

But seriously, if there's anything I can do in terms of replacing the items, let me know. :)

Just a tip so you can avoid this happening next time.
Always keep the debug screen open, activated by f3, while mining.
When you die quickly scribble down the co-ords displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen onto a piece of paper so you can return to that spot as soon as possible.
This has saved me a bunch of pain but this method has also given me a lot of false hope as well :/

Edit: Saw 08 has already posted something like this.

Also, I'm not sure if it still works, but if you go onto singleplayer and turn on f3, it'll be on when you go onto multiplayer.

Yeah Falco
Its a bit late now but if you put your co-ordinates up before mining then record your location it should be simple to find your stuff. :D
