I'm looking forward to the 2017 eclipse across north america.

I asked xkcd what it would be like viewing the total solar eclipse along its entire path for 3 hours and 13 minutes, possibly by airplane or low earth orbit. He hasn't answered yet. I wonder if it's possible to fly across the US in just an hour and 15 minutes (mach 3 at sea level).

So, being the nice guy I am, I decided to share some pictures of the eclipse with you guys :P

I took a picture of the sun, it looks absolutely stunning here:

I thought that it wasn't clear enough, so I took another picture:

Those pictures may not be the clearest, so I made a representation using accurate materials:

10/10, would cover up sun to see again.

Awesome shots, Pie! I had similar majestic views of the eclipse here in Perth, but was too lazy to photograph it.

Haha, I just spent the weekend in Melbourne. It rained.
Came back to Adelaide, it rained just slightly warmer.

Yet now it's sunny -.-

Two celestial bodies,
Together feared as an apocalypse.
Create a ring of fire on the horizon,
As they eclipse.

Luckily clouds are known to be an impenetrable barrier to punishments sent by the gods. Thank God (or, uh, whatever one is nice and whatever...)!
