My house was recently broken into and griefed.But i had iron golems in there that i was hoping when they were hit by the intruder,they would kill him.Instead the golem took the beating,and died.So my idea is to make it so iron golems can get aggravated at players when they are hit by them

I was under the impression that they were aggressive to players that attacked them

i thought so to,but when the intruder got into my house and hit them,they didnt aggro at all

It's still possible to kill iron golems when they are aggressive. Maybe they just had a good sword and armour.

Naturally spawned golems will attack players who attack them.

Golems created with blocks will not.

You sure about that, BSG? VVolfie created a few golems at spawn during the Mist last month, and they became aggressive when attacked.

BSG's statement is consistent with the minecraft wiki. Of course, that could be outdated (or Intelli could've quietly modified how aggro works on MR).

i think they work during the mist because PVP in enabled

Iron golems that are spawned currently do NOT attack back unless you attack a villager near by. As I know the ones in my spawner just keep on doing what they do oblivious to my attacks when I hit them.

I dont know about created ones but Im sure someone will go and test it.

It depends if a golem attacks. At my golem farm, sometimes a golem bugs out of the lava traps. They appear outside the farm, when im comming to close to them, they attack me, even if i did'nt touched them. Any type of damage, will make them angry and attack everyone who comes near. I vote no, becouse the Golems are working as intended and are just fine. They can't really be used to 100% secure your base anyways and they are pretty easy killed with a dia sword and dia armor.
