This is a thread dedicated to the heroes of television, not the villains.
I will start off with possibly my very favourite ones, by show-
Kate Bradley (Petticoat Junction) -
Columbo (Columbo, duh) -
Sergeant Frank Drebin, Officer Norberg, and Captain Ed Hocken (Police Squad!) -
Ted Olsen (Also Police Squad!) -

For me, it has to be blackadder. More specifically the blackadder from the third season. His character is one I can't help but be amused by but also be sympathetic with. The people he lives with/works around on a daily basis are so hopelessly moronic while he's far too intelligent to be a simple butler, a title and position those who think they are better than he is constantly remind him. A lifestyle which I can perfectly relate. However he has ways of putting them in their place. The best comedy of the show comes from the hilarious ways in which blackadders schemes blow up in his face but he still manages to come out even. Its amazed me over the years how Rowan Atkinson can play a complete moron (Mr. Bean) Or be a highly intelligent manipulative spineless character like Blackadder.

If I had to pick another I'd say Patrick Mcgoohan in the Prisoner would be my other favorite. This show gives you a weird feeling when watching it. Its as if at some parts you dont know whether to burst out laughing or feel very serious. If you've never watched its definitely an interesting experience. The rundown of the show is that Mcgoohan is an ex-spy for MI5 a british intelligence agency. The intro of the show is him resigning from his job, driving home and then getting promptly abducted. He is then sent to some island in the middle of nowhere. Its known simply as "The Village" where everyone wears ridiculous 60s clothing and pretends everything is rosy while the village itself exists for mysterious purposes. The people of the island are simply known as numbers and the Chief is known as No. 2. What do that want from Mcgoohan? They simply want to know why he resigned. Some of the episodes throw heavier topics at you. And some episodes, like those at the end. are just downright silly. Its a show with charm and intrigue and theres somewhat of a cult following for the show. Just because of how cryptic it can be at parts. Patrick Mcgoohan was one of the first british actors to start the whole spy genre. and he is definitely a character you'll like. Its a show I cannot do justice by explaining though. So draw form that what you will.
