I used to love the Battlefield series right up until they released the COD expansion pack for BF3.....absolutely ruined the game by apeasing to the CoD nubs and their rambo tactics

I found that expansion actually make the game a lot of fun. At least I'm a huge fan of domination and other small type game modes, so sick of the vehicles on conquest large 64. Sometimes it's good to get away from their ridiculous Over powerdness and 'that' expansion provided a lot more of it. However, the 'gun master' mode that was a total ripoff of gun game from cod was a joke.

Battlefield four seems quite good I'm general, yeah, vehicles are overpowered IMO, but mainly because no one wants to play engineer, and nome of the engineer rocket launchers to half enough damage. When they fix the weather modes for some of the maps, vehicles might become a lot more balanced with their limited FOV.

I do recommend BF4 if you enjoyed 3.

Neither compete with BFBC2 though!

Play capture the flag then, 5 vehicles or less per team 64 people on medium sized maps so theres plenty of action and its great. I used to be a cod fanboy up to this year, im fifth prestige and up on like every game. But they don't care for there players and BF4 does, its player appreciation month right now for Battlefeild free stuff everyday, if your looking between ghost and Battlefeild, get battlefeild.

OMG yeah Mitchie, BC2 was the best.
I even picked it up on PC recently too (re-converted console fanboy to PC)
Don't get me wrong I loved BF3 and played it to death on 360 for well over 6 months.
Then I found Minecraft.

Still have fond memories of being an engineer and being able to absolutely spam the entire field with mines till they patched it out. That and MAV glitching onto skyscrapers.
Sadly BF3 eventually turned into a spawn campfest mainly due to playerbase.

The only thing putting me off playing BF4, which my wife has on 360, is the live fee.
Not falling for that anymore thank you Micr$oft.
Sadly I doubt this PC could run BF4, although I could test out BF3 on it to see..

Congrats on (finally) seeing the light with CoD though oneman.

My coworker wants me to get BF4 for PC but I don't like how I need to buy BF4 then premium to get updated to newer maps.

Instead I been playing on steam, Planetside 2 which is a lot of fun and handles way more players per server (3 continents peer server@666 players per continent) and it's like BF4 but freeeee.

Downside it's Steam so updates happen but then it's also a good thing in some ways.

Sadly DLC is the new "thing"
Blame the CoD players, they blindly hand money over for new maps so all the other devs have followed suite....

Planetside is really fun and all, but the respawning mechanics really annoy me and make it way more annoying to play with friends. I've played 200 hours, so I have a decent bit of leadership certification, and even then I can only drop my spawn beacon every 5 minutes or whatever. Pretty good if you've got your squadron/platoon, but when you are playing with maybe one or two friends then the battlefield games tend to be my 'go-to',
