What operating system(s) do you use?

What it says. Talk about OSes, but don't flame.

Anyway, I mainly use Linux, Ubuntu to be specific. As I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers, but not extremely so, it fits my needs by giving me simple and relatively direct access to the system without a huge load of operating system opacity and crapware, while providing a cushion for things I don't know about.

I also use Windows 8, partly because my computer came with it and I didn't want to waste it, partly for the occasional program that doesn't have a Linux version or counterpart (mostly games, as many programs are becoming web-based), and partly for nostalgia.

In addition, I use my Android phone for some games, video-watching, and, most of all, web browsing (including some sites that have apps for browsing them, such as Imgur and Tumblr). I mainly tend to use it when I'm on the go and haven't got the time or space to get out my computer, but I also sometimes use it when I'm just too lazy to get up xD. I used to have an iPod Touch, but my Dad took it and lost it.

I also have a Wii, which I mostly use for Netflix, and a Roku (does that count?), which I also use for Netflix, as well as occasional streaming.

Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about you. Why do you think Linux is absolutely superior to the disgusting garbage that is its rivals, which have overtaken it through brainwashing and blackmail?

But seriously, vote and post about your OSes!

I use a main desktop gaming rig that i use whenever i want to game *kinda obvious since it's a Gaming RIG* and then i have a sony touchscreen laptop that i use for work and mostly as a stationary device with my speakers plugged in. I then have a surface RT which i bring in to use for all my school work and as a battery for my phone and to top it off, i use a galaxy nexus that i use for texting, music, and watching videos.

Os systems for each
Gaming Rig- Windows 7
Laptop - Windows 8
RT - Windows 8 RT (simplified version that can't run executable files and is very limited)
Phone - Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.2.2

I use Windows 7 Pro on all my desktops and have Windows 8 Pro on my notebook, modified with StartIsBack to look and perform like Windows 7.

I used to use OSX at my old work and found it really crimped my productivity, mainly through not having the multitude of little utilities that are available for Windows to customise the UI to exactly my preferences. It is much "cleaner" than Windows in many ways though, and certainly more foolproof for a non-tech savvy user.

I use an Android phone (Galaxy S4) but only for basic tasks - phone calls, emails and internet on the go, and the occasional game. I just haven't been able to get into the whole addicted-to-your-phone phenomenon.

I'm gonna try StartIsBack. Having to log out to put my computer in sleep is getting extremely frustrating.

Dude, just swipe from the right side of the screen hover over the power button and press sleep instead of log out.

That's both rude to me and offensive to people who are developmentally disabled.

Can you do that without a touch screen? I tried, and it didn't seem to work.

No. And yes. Just swipe your mouse over the top right corner then settings, then the power icon and select your option.
