Hey all,

So I was thinking about the new update coming up, and I made a post about the different ways of keeping up to date on the MineRealm map. Then I decided to see what all you guys thought.

Anyway, the possibilities for your pleasure:

A. Complete map wipe.
Pros:
*New resources
*Stays up to date
Cons:
*MineRealm's history is destroyed
*All users are forced to start over
*Users leaving because of their work being destroyed
*Intelli's promise broken

B. Public Land Wipe
Pros:
*New resources
*Stays up to date
*Preserves users' work
Cons
*New/poor users lose their stuff
*Disbanded guild/personal bases are lost
*Nonuniform landscape

C. Wilderness Wipe
Pros:
*New resources
*Stays up to date
*Preserves practically everything
Cons:
*Might not include all new biomes/items
*Not a place where most users will go by choice
/*By the way, I think this makes a point about the Wilderness; it works well for introducing new items into the economy, thanks to the few users who go in there and bring stuff out, but doesn't work too well as a way of introducing new biomes for exploration/building purposes.*/

D. Map expansion
Pros:
*New resources
*Stays up to date
*Preserves everything
Cons:
*Lag (temporary)
*Expense
*Less focus on original part of map/decentralization

E. Nothing
Pros:
*Everything is preserved
*No lag
Cons:
*Not up to date
*No new resources
*Users leaving due to MineRealm being outdated

Anyway, those are the possibilities we've got, and I figured we may as well discuss all of them. Vote!

I think B and D combined would be awesome, but it may be too much for Intelli.

If I had to choose between B and D, I'd pick B.

I just realized this should really be in server discussion. Ah, well.

Anyway, I voted D, in case anyone is wondering. I personally think that it would be possible for Intelli to raise enough extra money in donations for an upgrade, but IDK for sure. This isn't any sort of official poll anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I do hope it helps out the staff in making their decision, though.

Personally, I think wiping the wilderness and then making it so it is no longer the wilderness but just having it as part of the normal server so you can bring items in and out freely would be the best.

Anyway, I say b.

Since the last public realm wipe, I thought that there wouldn't be one again.

After all, not everything we want to keep is owned, so I'd have to vote C or E.

Public wipe is my vote as long as there is a limit to how many realms you can own. I only say this to keep our map less patchy. If everyone could only preserve like 25 realms each, then huge builds could still be preserved with teamwork. Personally I would wind up loosing a huge section of my home with this but I think its still the best thing to do. Keep the very best parts of MineRealm with a mostly new map.

How aboutr B+: Public Land Wipe + Wipe of private realms if user requests so per realm (by introducing "/realm wipe" command)

I hate this all...espiecally A....
