I'm back.

So, apparently my computer's motherboard was fried, but I got a new (better) one, so, after weeks, I'm back on.

Anyway, I'm basically out of stuff to do. Mining is pointless and boring (no more ores), I'm not too good at PVP, I can't build, and it gets quite tedious constantly enchanting. Any ideas?

No more ores?
Pfft, I found 20 dia today in nub stripmines just by removing dirt/gravel!
And one of them was an 8 vein cluster

Well, whenever I start getting bored of things, or just want a break from what I usually do, I hike it to the wilderness and start fresh.
It's pretty entertaining, and since it's the wilderness (with looting and pvp) you don't want to build big structures, so being a fantastic builder is not required, there's new ores generated constantly so it's usually easy to mine, the difficulty is higher (or at least the damage is) to keep things interesting, you don't have to pvp (I've yet to run into anyone in the wilderness, actually) but it's a good way to practice due to the double damage, you don't have to worry about enchanting unless you want to spend that much time in the wild and you can leave whenever you want taking all your valuable stuff with you, making the overall trip not a total waste of time.

Just my two cents.

Redstone?

I thought of building a programmable music box using repeater memory (repeaters lined up so any "1s" loop around continuously), but it was difficult to program and I didn't have the initiative to fix it. I wanted to have you extract a hex number from your song so you can use it later to play the same song, but the hex number would be too long even for a 10 second song. It would need some complicated data compressor. Furthermore, it's likely to be considered a lag machine. Even FPS lag would ensue.

I thought of using daylight sensors to count days, but they're unreliable. Weather is random and weather affects the output of the detectors. I figured it was a dead end, but it may still be worth a try.

Auto-auto shops. Without giving building privileges to someone, can you rent them an auto shop? It would be (for the most part) automatic. The player throws in 20 diamonds and gets a key card. Once the key card is entered, a player can initialize the input and output items, the input:output ratio, and fill and empty stock. After some time, the realm owner locks them out as per the posted rent agreement or even automatically after some number of sales.

Community-driven auto shops. Players can trade at shops for some currency item (say, emeralds). They can sell and buy items, exchanging emeralds, at an equal ratio. The ratio is chosen so sales equal purchases (supply equals demand). The owner of the shops does not profit and does not supply items, but must set the exchange rate. This would ideally include many items of the game. It would, in effect, determine the equilibrium price for each item.

Just some ideas anyone can take up if bored.
