So where do you make and edit them? Is it a basic software on your computer or something separate you need to download? Sorry if theres other threads like this couldn't find one skimming through the chat section.

A signature is just an image, which is then uploaded to the forums, just like an avatar. You can edit it with plain old Paint, but there are plenty of other programs out there.

Any you recommend that has more features? One of the better ones. Because i know simple stuff like old paint doesn't have all the cool edits.

Paint.Net is an image editing program I use. It has a variety of awesome features, support forums with tutorials, and best of all, it's free.
*cough* My signature *cough*

GIMP is basically a free version of photoshop. Generally I see GIMP and Paint.net recommended as the two good free image editors.

I personally use Photoshop and Illustrator, but as Kero said, GIMP and Paint.net are good free resources.
