as for how did i make the house i just built what popped into my head and improved upon it

Your farms are definitely more serious than mine... My foodstuffs are kind of awkwardly scattered about, with nothing automated. The only redstone stuff I have is on a door that doesn't actually seal anything, as its not the only entrance. >.<
