Publisher: CodeHatch
Release: TBC 2013
Minecraft with guns, realistic graphics, and both ground and low-orbit construction. Interested? Starforge is a ridiculously ambitious crowd-funded indie project that’s already come a remarkably long way. You deform terrain and build a fortress to protect yourself from aliens, and when all else fails, use a shotgun to blast them into pieces. If the small team can make those weapons feel nice to fire, it’ll be a winner.
^from pcgamer website i didn't write that but it seems interesting wondering your guys thoughts on it.

Texture packs can only do so much... they don't make the game less blocky, they just let you customize what the blocky bits look like.

but minecraft is all about the blocks and blocky stuff, taking that away just takes the whole point of this wonderful sandbox game away

Whenever anybody mentions this game I can't help but think of Knights of the Old Republic...
Anyway, back on topic. Before you go ahead and buy this game keep in mind that it is ridiculously graphics intensive at the moment. A large enemy can practically single handedly crash a top end system for no apparent reason.
While the concept of the game is amazing, and progress so far is impressive, the actual current game is still very much a dev version. It's incredibly unstable and not actually that fun for a very long time. But do keep an eye on it, it has much potential.
