Scrolls Open Beta!

I missed out on the closed alpha/beta and just wanted to see if anyone else bought it/has been playing it and to hopefully catch up and challenge each other and stuff.

I grabbed it yesterday morning and after 3-4 hours of play I'm really loving it.

My username's same as MC: Exekiel

Question of the day: Which pre-con did you choose and why?

(I got all three so I can test them out and find which suits my play style)

Managed to get the game during the closed alpha. Played for about an hour then got bored. It was good... but not the best.

Yeah, I didn't end up getting scrolls because I thought that everyone was hyping it up because of Markus Persson.
I mean a game shouldn't be defined by it's creator :|

Wow, fair enough I guess. I've been looking for a long time for a replacement for FNM since my local shut down. Best one I've found to date :p

I never got into card war games, have always been more of model wargamer, playing tabletop battle games like warhammer 40k and video games like the total war series or Total Annihilation.

So with these games are they just one on one or is there potential for multiplayer?

I tried shadow era, but I didn't really enjoy it, the gameplay was generic and stale and it was Super freemium, you could get all the cards without paying, but by golly it's going to take a while!

Firstly scrolls is nothing like magic except for the fact it's a ccg. It has a strong strategy elements in placement and movement of your units and the countdown mechanic (creatures and structures (walls and siege equipment) don't attack/activate every turn) is pretty cool too. I agree with a lot of the comments though, it's unfortunate there isn't a free trial for people to try before they buy. There are a lot of people out there who don't have a disposable $20
