Was gonna make a new thread, but I guess I'll just put this here instead. 15 people are on, so it looks like it's not that everyone has this problem :/. First time I've seen (or even heard about) this error message. Not sure what it means. Seems like something that would come up if you downloaded an illegal copy of minecraft, which I obviously didn't since I bought the game xD

Minecraft's authentication service is down, meaning the players currently online were online before it went down. The http error 503 means nothing was sent, as the service is down; the other message is self-explanatory.

Has this happened before and if it did ho long was it down for?

I can't get in either, but I end up getting a timeout error or something. Weird how we cant connect but they are all different issues.
