A redstone loop replacement that doesn't cause lag

1. Place a dropper (or dispenser).
2. Place a wooden pressure plate two blocks away from the dropper.
3. Surround the pressure plate with blocks, to prevent things thrown at it from going right over it.
4. Fill the dropper with stuff.
5. Send a redstone signal from the wooden pressure plate through a NOT gate to the dropper.
6. Send a redstone signal out from under the dropper through a NOT gate.
7. Throw an item onto the pressure plate.
8. ??????
9. PROFIT.

Specifically, you have created a lag-free version of a redstone loop that resets itself every five minutes, sending out a brief signal. Perfect for sugar cane farms and the like if you don't like the unpredictability of BUD switches.

It can also be set up with redstone repeaters if you want the signal to last longer. For instance, I'm considering adding an optional auto-suffocater at the Vortex skelly grinder (with roach's permission, of course). You could also probably hook up a bunch of them to make the signal occur more often, although I'm no redstone pro, so I'm not quite sure how that would be done.

Well, there you have it. A lag-free redstone loop. Enjoy it, and use it well.

You just inverted the signal, there isnt any NOT gates in that pic. good idea tho :)

Thanks. As for the inverter, I've heard them called NOT gates before, I'm not entirely sure what the difference is. In any case, an inverter works.
