Do you have a Playstation 3? Do you have a computer? If you have both of these things and are a major gamer, then Motioninjoy is right for you!
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use your PS3 controller as a PC gamepad!
Go here: http://www.motioninjoy.com/download
Scroll down until you find the download links (they should be directly under the first one of these
)
Click the download for your system.
Once downloaded, unzip the folder and click the .exe file. Follow the installation instructions (should be pretty easy).
Now, here is the fun part. Once the software is downloaded, plug in your PS3 controller via USB. Click "Load Driver".
Once the driver is installed, navigate to "Profiles" (It should be the first on the black bar at the top).
Select Xbox 360 controller emulator. Everything should be correct with the controller. If not, click options beside Xbox 360 Controller Emulator.
Once everything is done, click "Enable". This should allow you to use your PS3 controller on almost all games.
Now, go on a game (Not Minecraft, it does not work on Minecraft without additional programs, but later in the tutorial, I will tell you how to use it on Minecraft
) and configure the controls.
A=X
B=O
X=Square
Y=Triangle
You might have to enable the gamepad on some games within the options menu on that game. For instance, on Portal, in order to use the Right Analog stick, I had to enable the gamepad.
Now, to change movement and camera position. Simply edit the control and move the analog sticks in the correct direction. If it says left strafe, move the left analog stick to the left.
TIME TO MAKE IT WORK ON MINECRAFT!!!
Now, all you have to do is download JoyToKey. And make a configuration.
Well, go here to download: http://joytokey.webs.com/download.htm
If you download the wrong version, you won't be able to read it. Make sure to download the correct one.
Well, extract the folder, open it and click JoyToKey.exe.
Go to Preferences (on the side bar) and under Show/Hide buttons there should be a drop down menu. Change it so it says "Show all axes (8 way + POV x 2)". Now we are ready to make the configuration!
Now IMPORTANT AND BORING INFO TIME.
AxisX(<0) = Left Analog, Left Direction
AxisX(>0) = Left Analog, Right Direction
AxisY(<0) = Left Analog, Up Direction
AxisY(>0) = Left Analog, Down Direction
Axis3(<0) = Right Trigger
Axis3(>0) = Left Trigger
Axis4(<0) = Right Analog, Left Direction
Axis4(>0) = Right Analog, Right Direction
Axis5(<0) = Right Analog, Up Direction
Axis5(>0) = Right Analog, Down Direction.
POV1 :UP = D-pad Up
POV1 :RIGHT = D-pad Right
POV1 : DOWN = D-Pad Down
POV1 :LEFT = D-pad Left
Buttons:
1 = X
2 = O
3 = Square
4 = Triangle
5 = L1
6 = R1
7 = Select
8 = Start
All the others are disabled.
Now, to change the Right Analog stick's function, double click the correct Axis and find Mouse (should be at the top).
For left the number must be negative on the horizontal slider. For right, it has to be positive.
For up the number on the vertical slider must be positive and down must me negative.
Say you wanted to change the X button to jump. You would double click Button 1, navigate to Keyboard and press the Space key where the yellow box is.

Which ever buttons you are using to scroll through your items, you have to go to Mouse tab while editing the Button and move the slider where it says Wheel Rotation. Up is forward scroll and down is backward scroll.
Well, thats about it. Thanks for reading, I hope this was beneficial. Have fun!
