Another thing that would help, all the vast open spaces of private nothingness not far from spawn.
I'm not saying owners should be forced to sell, but why not hire the community to build something to look at on the arduous trek from spawn by foot.

Some kind of park land would be nice, just....something other than flat.
Not to mention all the bought up, griefed to death realms that aren't being restored/repaired.

One time, a noob complimented me on my build. I then took her to the far corner of the map, gave her some iron and diamond tools, mined with her, and helped her build a house. It was arguably the best experience I've had on MineRealm. 10 days later, she's left the server forever.

A while back, NTC used to come to my casino every night and play many games. I used to host literally whole guilds at certain points in time. I tossed many diamonds around and there was cash being thrown everywhere. Now? Nobody has come to the casino this entire year.

A long time ago, I participated in the glowstone rush. I even shot a player off a tower and took his two stacks of blocks, making him swear at me in rage. When a similar rush had potential, the rush for endstone of course, the exit was disabled and the market ruined. Now? All that is needed to spark a week of fun and chaos in MineRealm would be to enable that exit again.

Anybody who thinks we don't have a major problem is clearly wrong. But anybody who thinks it can't be fixed is also wrong. We can't simply fix it by acting like it's fixed. We need the administrators to fix the problem, and quite frankly I don't know how or even if they will. I just hope I can play on the server without feeling sad every time, because that's what happens to me when I do. I miss the good old days (wow, cliche much?), but I think that they can be brought back.

I agree with a lot of what Jack has said. When quartz comes out Im actually looking forward to some excitement coming from the whole community. The chaos and spontaneous madness is addictively fun.

Yesterday I found myself in the old days. Billy and Tidal were PVPing at spawn and Gman, Raider and I decided to have some fun with it. I proceeded to seal of my realm and start making a dirt castle wall with notches in it to shoot arrows at them. Hell we even had lava set up to shoot through for flame arrows. We set raider up in the castle firing at them as a distraction while I went invisible and hit them with splash potions. The realm was a complete mess towards the end, but It was the most fun i've had since the April Fools day event.

There are no doubts in my mind that we can return to this kind of MR, but it is going to take some serious work on all of our parts.

There is quite a few issues with Minerealm as others pointed out.

I know I find the swear filter rather dumb since it has certain words added to it that arent even a swear word and also that repeating the word within a certain time gets you banned. That in itself severly hurts anyone from wanting to come back. It should be more of a day temp ban sorta thing and staff can ban anyone being persisstant in swearing.

Realms is great I find other then it needing a couple levels of permissions for them so you can add someone but yet not give them free reign over the whole realm. This should be thought about.

While new items eventually make its way to Minerealm I do find it rather frustrating you cant just go out and find it like you can on single player. Of course you usually have to make a new world to do so and would have to wipe the server to do the same thing on Minerealm.

Like the Glowstone rush some liked and some didnt. To me it was seriously flawed since it really only benefited those that pvp'd or knew pvp'rs to protect them and also how fast it was mined out anyways. Now villagers sell them which is alot better but the same issue will happen when quartz is released. Anyone wanting it will either have to buy it for some rediculous high price or goto the nether and prob get killed and then end up buying it anyways.

Wiping the nether seems the best bet to start gathering quartz since it hasnt been put in yet and its been over a month since its been added. I would say give a couple days for players to gather items out of the nether (rails or such) and then wipe it and let it start over.

Bad part would be the nether rail system would have to be rebuilt and portals and walkways and such all redone too. But it'll be added and perhaps the community can work together to get it back up and running. Unless the griefing pvpers ruin that which prob would be the case. I know not all would be like that...

Also be a good time to have Intelli put up a no pvp zone around the Spawn nether portal. To at least end portal camping around spawn leaving other portals free for that type of player that likes that. Which shouldve been done long time ago.

Another issue is the map is based on pre jungles and such. Sucks totally that there isnt any unless you goto the wilderness which again sucks since if you wanted to build/live in a jungle you cant unless you want to get looted in the wilderness. Now you got horses and such coming out soon and whats that going to be? another extension of the map that will be a pvp zone ? No thanks, bandaid solutions arent ever the answer.

A public land wipe is best even though itll make the the land look wierd and such but it is already looking like that anyways and I would sooner have actual jungles and such where I can buy and build then not. Players can fix their realms to blend in better as they did with the last public realm wipe. Those that dont then they choose to have it look like that.

When I first joined minerealm I loved spawn. It was a lot of fun with its pond, little shack, and fountain. People would have drop party's at spawn on a daily bases. It would be a challenge to get on spawns fountain. Legacy was at its prime. Things were so much fun.

That's what we need! Chaos and fun madness, unpredictability! Mystery! Excitement! We've gotten so secure with our end-game-ness that we've lost it! We need it back!
