[REJECTED] Change to static background image for website

I'd like to recommend changing to a static image for the website background. As it is with the ever changing images from the Minerealm world most of the time it's either ocean or griefed areas. Not very appealing I would imagine. I'd recommend a static image of spawn and just an image. As I noted in another thread the map.minerealm.com web address has been tagged by Websense, a heavily used web filter tool by businesses, as a sex site. Granted it is categorized wrong but to get it reviewed would probably result in the entire site getting tagged as a gaming site which most locations also filter out. Put together it just keeps current and potential users from the site.

You can already disable the map manually. This is unneeded.

No you can't and even if you could that does not help new visitors.
I know its fun to flame others suggestions but atleast use your head first.

dlgn is sort of right on this one. When you're using the forum you can scroll down and click 'Disable Map'. However, if you're on 'Home' you can't.
Just throwing that in there. :3

I'm not seeing the "flame" in that post...

Just didn't appreciate being told it wasn't needed. Took it as a flame and also had just woken up.
It's beside the point. It still triggers the web filters and it also, most of the time, looks bad. Plus the fact you can't disable it for the homepage.

you have a point to the static image of spawn being better than griefed land or ocean, but aside from that, it is unneeded. and next time you think of accusing someone of something, think twice about it! you seem to wrongly accuse folks of stuff more regularly than you'd care to admit...

Actually his response was short, didn't adress all the points I brought up, and was negative. Considering it a troll, or flame post, doesn't seem that far off base. Maybe you should go back to your subway?

Woah, guys, simmer it down please or at least take it to the pm's. We're posting here to discuss and debate whether an idea should be implemented, not make remarks at each other.
Although I do agree with the map being static, or at least restricted around a certain area of the map. As for the sex site category on websense, is there much we can do about that?

I kinda like the random images of minerealm being shown.
I dont know about getting constant griefed areas or just water but most of the time when I do pay attention to the background it seems to be ok and very few of just water or griefed areas.
If you can change it in options then one should do that there otherwise leave it as is.
