[ACCEPTED] Suggestion: "/afk"?

So it has come to my attention that when someone goes afk admin or player. There is always someone looking for them, so would it be possible to make a command that when someone goes afk all they have to do is type /afk. And when someone says the persons name in chat the bot sends a pm to them saying "this person is afk"

Example - Thekingjab: Is kinasaka here?
Example - Bot: <in a msg> : Kinasaka is AFK

I have been told that intelli has made some of the scripts on the server, not sure if its true or not. If so, then wow. Nice job, but back to the subject. This would help players out in the long run, for when staff goes afk they can also do this. So players are not sitting in the chat every five minutes asking "is there a admin online?"

Just a suggestion me and a few friends came up with while playing on mine realm. Tell me what you think.

I voted no, not because it wouldn't be somewhat useful, but because it's quite unnecessary. Generally, when someone goes AFK, logging out would work just as well. In the situations where being AFK is necessary (for example, a slime farm in an otherwise unloaded chunk), people can easily figure out that the person is AFK. There are few such situations anyway, and most of the time, at least a few people will know that a person is AFK and can tell people who try to talk to that player. This isn't really an issue, so I doubt that it's worth the trouble of a bit of coding, a bit of lag, and screen clutter. Anyway, /afk is certainly not vanilla, and non-vanilla things are only used if extremely important; for example, /trade and the realms/credits system are integral parts of MineRealm, and the spawn teleporter is there so that people can get to public land without an extreme hassle, especially for n00bs.

TL;DR: Not important enough to warrant a new command.

I don't think chat features should really be classified as vanilla or non-vanilla. Chatting does not effect actual gameplay... it only effects community interaction. I'm all for things that improve our community. I always thought MineCraft had a terrible chat system... although, it is significantly better now because of that one update.

I like the concept of a /afk. I'm not sure of the actual difficulty/server strain of implementing this, but that isn't really necessary for us to worry about. That is Intelli's job ;) Unless of course it would be obviously horrendously difficult/taxing.... but this shouldn't be.

An auto-timed afk would be even better, but I think that responsibility should fall upon the Mojang dev team as a client-side feature, not Intelli.

I like the idea of /afk. Like they said, there is always someone asking if there is an admin online or something. If this can help to keep the chat more clean then i'm all for it, even if that person is afk for just a few min.
