[REJECTED] Using Emeralds as a type currency

I was reading the Minecraft wiki, looked at emeralds, and found they had no use except for trading. Since trading will most likely be extremely difficult for most players, I suggest we use Emeralds as a type of currency. Im not suggesting we move the entire servers economy to emeralds, but merely suggesting we keep the current barter/credits, and also use emeralds as a form of it. Discuss?

An intersting idea, but it makes no economical sense to use multiple forms of currency. Invariably, emeralds will likely be updated, meaning that they would no longer be useful as currency, and this would throw the market into chaos. Not only that, but seeing as how taxes will be implemented, it stands to reason that credits will be returning as well. Credits are a more reliable form of currency by far, especially verses something that may become useful/decorative later.

That said, I can see emeralds having a price that fluctuates unpredictably, and could be usefull as a type of stock market, similar to glowstone.

No need for any official emerald-based currency system. I'm sure they'll be traded frequently enough, as they'll be popular items due to all the things you can get from villagers in exchange for emeralds.

how much credits/k would each emerald be worth? if you ask me i think 500c per emerald, and they are also rare because they are only found in extreme hills, and extreme hills edge, as of 1.3 -mc
