i think that we need to add an new rule that says that a seller cant Withdraw an Auction if he doesnt like the bids this has happend 2 times now 1 time for me so this is not fair to us buyers we cant withdraw our bids without getting an ban request but the sellers can withdraw their Auction without getting one. so i think this is unfair and before you guys ask me if i read the rules i did BUT LM never said it was illegal but Aelclan did propose it but it never got acepted so this i why i want it to be acepted as an rule.

I don't know... Seeing as it is the seller's item, he should be able to do what he wants with it, but it is unfair to the buyer who anticipates his prize after a long, hard struggle to bid. How about to prevent the withdrawal of a bid a seller has to specify that it is not permitted, and if he may refuse to sell?

Some addition to the Auction Rules:

Withdrawal Permission: Yes / No
Sell Refusal Permission: Yes / No

These are my opinions! Thanks for this thread Keve. You're starting to grow on me.

So, funny story about your idea...
Aelcalan wrote:Thank you! I've seen far too many auctions with with shady stuff going on, usually because the seller wanted to get more credits. I'd also like to recommend:

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, or otherwise bidder and seller agree, a winning bid MUST be paid. Too many people are bidding lightly, then trying to withdraw.
That would be Aelcalan effectively already covering that base. I would also like to post...

Or even a permanent ban!
And that, as they say, is that.

From my point of view this should be implemented. Maybe people seem to withdraw auctions when the item they are selling doesn't reach the price of an identical item being sold.
If you set a low starting price you take a risk of getting a low final selling price.

Either people name a reserve price in the auction that allows them to pull the auction if this price isn't met or set a high starting price so you get a decent sale value.
If they don't name a reserve price and pull the auction as they aren't happy with the final price i believe it should be bannable.

I don't understand the desire to have a law like that. Someone shouldn't be obligated to trade an item if they haven't come to an agreement. I've never participated in a MineRealm auction though.

Yes this should be implemented. I remember a post or in-game chat where one of the staff said: "If you're going to auction your stuff, consider it gone when you posted the topic."

Sellers shouldn't be able to withdraw without consequences, I would suggest the same ones that go for the buyers. If they wanted more credits they should have placed a higher starting bid.

This is already a rule.
An auctioneer MAY reject bids from a particular player, but if they're rejecting an unusually large number of bids, they need to have a very good reason why. Otherwise, they can expect to be forced to sell. If they want to have a reserve, they need to post that fact in the initial auction post. Ideally, they also tell that number to an impartial third party, to avoid shenanigans.
