[INVALID] For Next Wipe: A Smaller Map

only 5% of all realms are private, and many of the private ones were just bought, but not used. Travelling from spawn to the border to visit someone's realm is a pain (the nether is too dangerous with all those pigmen, and the subway doesnt really reduce the time).
If you dont live in a big community, you are always alone.
Maybe a smaller map would help us next time.
Or just a smaller map when we start. later we could move the borders.

Interesting idea. One question, though: what exactly is this "next wipe" you're talking about?

This, no wipe is coming, unless we absolutely need one, which probably will never happen

Im hoping for a full wipe. The current map is messed up, veterans are leaving, 1.0 terrain is ugly.
Maybe you will change your mind when they fixed the terrain generation: More biomes, separate biology from geology, ...
Dont tell me that you want this map forever. 6 months? 1 year? - just a matter of time.

I like having a big map. More places to explore and roam around. If there was a smaller map, I would be kinda PO'd, due to my nomadic Minecraft lifestyle and such.

The size of the map should definitely not be smaller. People generally want to have some space to expand and to not have people building right next to them. People want to have a buffer of public realms between them and the next person so they don't get in each other's way and can't bother each other. It may look like there are lots of public realms and therefor loads of space but when you take a good look at the entire map it turns out there are hardly any non-developed areas on the map.

I think the map size should stay as is. Any smaller would be too small. The same size would work great for the hardcore survival server that I hope replaces creative, or replaces the current survival map (as a wipe).

I agree too, I like having a big map.
Edit: A bigger map means more resources!

No map wipe is imminent nor is one planned and Intelli has specifically said it will not happen again.
I would prefer the opposite of what you suggest, an infinite map. A good compromise might be to say realms can only be purchased if they are adjacent to another realm or far in the wilderness, thousands of blocks away from the nearest realm. Maybe even add a risk function related to distance from the nearest realm, so that 500 blocks away from a realm turns on PVP and disables /home, /spawn, and /trade.
