[FORUM SUGGESTION] Auction Rules

This suggestion regards auction rules and people who post on auctions.

I believe that people should only be allowed to post bids on auctions. There are way too many auctions with people saying that the auctioneer's price is too high. Then arguments get started and no bids get through and before you know it, the end date has been hit and the item goes unsold due to having no bids.

When people post their opinion on the price, whether it is good or bad, it will change the way the auction goes. If someone posts a good opinion, more people will probably bid on it and more people will post "u stpid retard that price iz not gud it sux" and if someone posts a bad opinion, it will create an argument and less people will probably bid on the item.

Now, this might seem a little rash to most of you, but am sure that auctioneers would like it if this rule was set into place. It would prevent loss of business and profit.

Well, thanks for reading,

~Bone

I like this idea. Not only would it protect the traders from the points you mentioned, it would allow people to bid more freely without having to read through non-bidding posts.

However, a rule was made like this for the bans section. Something along the lines of, don't post unless you have something to do with it. For example saying "Plus one" would get you a temp forum ban. Sadly I haven't seen this rule enforced and many people continue to post nonsense.

I like the idea but if it is implemented, would the rule be upheld?

As much as I hate random non-bid comments on the price of commodity X, blocking those comments amounts to price protection on behalf of the seller. Wherefore the unsuspecting buyer? Should we also establish a Minerealm Consumer Protection Agency in order to establish fair prices and protect people from price gouging?

I think someone was working on an item price thread on the forum. I think they dropped it though.

The rule was removed hence why it's not enforced.

Although sometimes I feel like it's important to comment on the price, yeah, if every single post was a bid it would be a lot more simple.

+1
