I seem to be the center of the argument of throwing snowballs at other players with /pvp off. So I made the inevitable suggestion to ban it.

Nowhere do I see that it is illegal. I asked Aelcalan not once but twice, the second time warning him that they damage armor. Both times he replied that it is fine. (I can post screens if requested)

Not only do they damage armor but in some cases they damage health. I don't know when, but it's really weird.


Snowballs are LETHAL WEAPONS and need to be banned under the same conditions as potions like insta-damage.

Oh, and the pros and cons:
Pros

• People don't get annoyed by armor destruction w/o pvp on
• Makes the game more fair
• If people want to throw them at others they must turn on /pvp which promotes pvp

Cons

• um... IDK

We are currently having this discussion on the server, with many players considering it either griefing (as it damages armour), or illegal PvP (as it affects people with PvP disabled).

Do you know how much damage it does to armor?

No. It's snowballs.

Don't wear armour when people are throwing snowballs.
Problem solved with out any extra "Anti snowball plugin" or unnecessary bans.

Anyone who throws snowballs at people with pvp off is a troll..

While we're at it lets just take away all of the free time the staff have left over to actually play the game.

I don't quite like that idear, s292r.

If we were to go with your suggestion to take our armor off while someone throws snowballs at us with pvp off. Well, what's to stop from someone charging at us with a enchanted sword and killing us while our armor is in our inventory? Oh, your saying not to pvp at spawn? Turning pvp on in the overworld is an option to us and we can do so if we please. As petty as this may sound, snowballs should be classified as illegal pvp while the thrower has pvp off. It's harassment.
