Realm Games (LGB, Spleef, PVP, and all that stuff)

Mods and Admins
/RealmGames host <name>
/RealmGames list host

RealmGames host
/set RealmGames warp
/RealmGames chat <on or off>
/RealmGames leave

Everyone
/RG <message>


The leader of the realm that will hold the next game makes a post on the forum declaring it so.

Some time during the week a mod will read his post and go in-game and make him the RealmGames host: /RealmGames host <name>
(There can be multiple host for the realm games as decided on the forums)

The RealmGames host sets the RealmGames warp: /set RealmGames warp

When it's time to invite people the game the host turns on the RealmGames chat: /RealmGames chat on

After the game The host leaves his job: /RealmGames leave

Upon leaving the RealmGames warp point is set to null and the chat is turned off.

A mod can check the next day to make sure that the host has left his job and not kept the extra warp: /RealmGames list host

Nothing against all these new ideas, but it seems like a lot of work for admins/mods who already have enough to do (and still want time to enjoy the game). In a case like this, I think those involved in these games should always consider non-plugin solutions first before lobbying for something along these lines. I'm sure there is a feasible fix to these problems. You should all get together and look at cases where games have been conducted successfully and where they have not. Find out what works and try and institute changes to where the problems exist.

Basically, I think you should establish a governing body for Minerealm games, ala the NFL or NCAA and whatnot. :)

Then again, needing a mod to come and warp a bunch of players takes a long time and is hard work too. This will lessen the amount needed to be done by the mods, I think.

I can personally testify as the leading... mod... LBG... warper, that it isn't necessarily difficult for me to port people in, but when the host doesn't have things organized himself and I have to decide for myself who to port in, that's when it becomes a nuisance.

I like the idea, but it would also be a quick remedy to have players register for a tournament on the forums, so they can get ported in quickly / I have a list of who to port and when.
