Slimes are Dumb

They're not a threat to people who aren't idiots, so they're not useful for keeping around for "survival" purposes.
They split on client side, but it affects mob numbers for an area and screws up spawns.
Sometimes they spawn where other, killable mobs that would actually drop something useful could be spawning instead.
They're clearly broken.
They're annoying as hell.
They're dumb.
Can we make them go away, at least until MC is updated so that the slime splits aren't invulnerable?

this topic has been addressed before, and, unfortunately, the admins do not have the power to "turn off" slimes. It was a decision made by mojang, and is undoubtedly being worked on.

Slimes are client sided, therefore there is nothing we can do about it.
Client sided means that it your game client (on your computer), not the server, that generates the slimes. So you and your friends will not see the same slimes.
If you read another thread about slimes you would know that logging out will make them go away, sometimes this may require multiple log outs.
