I think you should get credits from killing mobs.
Like 5 zombie 10 creeper 10 skeleton

This would make XP grinders the most broken thing ever.

This would mean people could earn credits faster, meaning they can purchase things quicker, such as spawn realms. I like the current credit system. If you want something that costs, you have to work relatively hard for it rather then just mob grinding all day. I vote no.

^^^ My exact thought upon reading the title.

Reading the title, I was somewhat conflicted. It's easy enough to earn credits by mining, so the easiness of earning 0.5 or 1.0 credits per mob killed wouldn't be a game-breaker, right?
...and then I saw the number of credits he proposed getting from each mob. No.

Yeah I think this is a bad idea. not only would it make mob grinders now insane for getting credits but it would cause a huge inflation in the economy due to a LOT more credits circulating. I am pretty sure intelli has done everything he can to prevent that.

Up to and including a feature that allows you to pay 1000 credits to post a message to chat even though it's possible to also chat for free.
So yeah... if the credit amounts were more reasonable than what was proposed in this lunacy, it probably wouldn't be too bad for inflation, but when there's an effort underway to go in the other direction and remove credits from the economy, this would just be counterproductive.
Also worth noting:
Killing mobs already provides an indirect form of income. By getting exp and using high-level enchants, you can make items that sell for large amounts of credits. Although this does not introduce credits into the economy as a whole (and, in fact, removes a few via taxation), it is still a viable source of income for an individual player.

All this will do is cause too much wealth too quickly, as others have said you have to work for it.

This is primarily a build-server. The reason you get creds for blocks is to encourage building. Not only would this be a broken game mechanic, it would remove the major incentive for new players to create.
If you don't belive this would be a broken game mechanic, then let illuminate the situation. A good double/triple spawner farm can supply 1 mob per second to a player. That comes out to 3600 mobs per hour. If we just use your mid-range bonus of 10 creds, then an afk player with a mouse-clicking macro could earn 36,000 credits in an hour. But what if they turn it on and go to sleep you ask? Well this is obviously a lazy person, so their 10 hours of sleep turns into 360,000 credits. Wow, I've been playing on this server 8 months, but even my rich butt would have to start selling realms to get my wallet to that point.
Ok, so 10 creds is broken, but what about 1 cred/mob. Hmm...360,000/10=36,000. Still too much creds to allow lazy bums to make by sleeping rather than contributing to the server.
Moral of the story: bad idea is bad.

An auto-clicking program has been considered a hack/exploit, and apparently that rule is in fact enforceable (some people have been banned for it). So we wouldn't see people getting credits 24/7 like that... but your point still stands, because we likely would see people getting credits through this method for several hours at a time, and picking up a number of high-level enchants along the way.
