/ignore [user]

I think implementing an /ignore system would be extremely beneficial, and would prevent the great amount of fights without having to kick anyone.

There are also people that you...just don't really want to listen to.

Things that would happen when you /ignore [user]

You cannot see messages from that user.
You cannot see anything in chat from that user.
You CAN still see advertisements from that user.
You cannot receive credits from that user.
You cannot give credits to that user.
The users permission on any of your realms is immediately removed.
The user cannot be added back on to your realms until removed from the /ignore list.

commands
/ignore [user]: ignores the user
/ignore [user] logoff: ignores the user until you log off.
/ignore [user] remove: removes from ignore list.

No...you shouldn't have to disable chat because of one user...

I often do, and it would be nice if I didn't need to. The worst situations are when a spammer is online at a time when mods are gone/afk, but it would also be nice to be able to block some of the petty bickering that goes on from time to time. I personally would get a lot of use out of the "/ignore [user] logoff" command--sometimes players that I typically respect as valuable members of the community can get a bit annoying for a short while.

It helps certain people and people that dont like it can simply not use it.

I like this idea, but you shouldn't be able to use it on a mod/ admin.

This suggestion pops up once every month or two, and seeing as this is almost identical to the idea presented in the other threads, there's not much of a chance it'll be implemented. The plugin would have to send a different chat to each player based on their ignore list, unlike in /chat where it just doesn't send at all. Every player having a custom chat would tax the server too much and I'm sure you'd all love the lag that comes along with it.
^Thanks to the last guy who explained it

If the player is annoying you to the point of wanting to erase them from the server, consider filing a ban request. Otherwise, stop complaining and just don't talk to the person.

Yeah its pretty much like irl. In school or at work there will always be someone that gets on your nerves but yet you somehow have to cope with it. I know we are playing a game here but it is still a social community for better or for worse.

But to have /chat irl would be awesome though...

I say yes, but I think that instead of /ignore [user] and /ignore [user] remove, just use /ignore and make it toggable

If it would cause a lot of lag I DON'T want it. My stupid computer runs slow enough! :x If it didn't cause a lot of lag it would be a great idea. Thanks to Cogohst for the additional information. :D
