Realm permissions

I know this has been suggested a few times. Its a feature that myself and others would no doubt appreciate.

My idea is a new command that allows players to add or remove permissions from a player within a realm.... this would be more complicated than a 'trusted' member command, but would allow it to work both ways...

My idea includes the following commands
To be effected by these commands you must be a member of the realm. New members start with all permissions, excluding the leader commands.

/realm permission player chests (this would prevent, or allow, players to access chests)
/realm permission player motd (this would allow players to change the motd)
/realm permission player promote (this allows other players to use these commands)
/realm permission player name (allows players to change the realms name)

I may have missed something

Pros:
1. Would allow people to add members to realms to build or mine, without giving them permissions to their chests.
2. Would allow for shared leadership of realms, great for groups of friends working together

If you think of any more obvious pros, tell us in the comments.

Cons:
1. Could lead to trust issues.... with players removing friends rights...

Again, if you think of an obvious con... tell us in the comments.

I know moderately drastic changes such as this are almost certainly doomed to failure and i know similar things have been suggested before, but i definitely think that this would be good all round.

Hopefully, you guys agree! Thanks for your time!

I really like this. I hope it gets implemented as I feel this would be a nice touch to the already great Realm system of MineRealm.

Sounds good.
This may also prevent theft issues if implemented.

There could also be a permission to turn off blocks.... But it seems pointless. The only reason you would use it is if you are making a warehouse realm and don't want people to change it... *glares at intelli*

I like this idea, it could be really useful.

I have multiple realms that are only for me, storing all my valuables... But if this was added in, then I could have workers and friends there as well.

Maybe you could make it so certain people could access certain chests, like a command like:
/realm permission Hippoface chest
And before that, you selected a chest in some way that even my genius can't think of.

+1 for this. However what if the leader of the realm promotes someone, then they go and promote other people. A theft problem as Flanny said. How (if there is anyway) could u seal them from promoting others?
It could be just making all people promoted approve if they need someone else promoted.

I am for this idea. It will help a lot with doing construction on other people's realms.

I think way we are currently able to purchase land and set permissions is probably the best way to do it. However, I do see huge benefits to having a more selective permission setting commands at your disposal. I've had travelers that I would like to let stay on one of my realms and store their gear, but not be able to damage the buildings or steal glowstone. I've also had friends on my main realm that I want to let build, but not be able to get into my chests of valuables.

Contrariwise I can see such commands creating even more interpersonal issues that the Mods would have to sort out. Players getting in trouble for inappropriate joke realm MOTD's that someone else wrote, disagreements over who owns what in which chest, arguments over who was given permissions to piece of property first for a build... etc. All sorts of trust issues, like Mitchie said.

It would be a cool option for us to have, but might be more trouble that it's worth.
