Nether Road suggestions

So, after dying a few time while unarmed and unarmored (a test of sorts), I've decided that the Nether road may need a few changes.

Since we have plenty of time before 1.9 comes out, I propose that we extend the Nether Road so each main portal is connected directly to the other portals.

For example: Normally to get from, say, Crystal Village to Roanoke, you have to go down the only road that leads between the two portals. This makes prime camping territory, as the path is very, very linear.

What I propose is a....web of sorts. If there are reports of people camping the Abyssus->Roanoke road, then you could just take a route around (say, Spawn directly to Abyssus and bypass Roanoke altogether, or Spawn to Crystal Village to Roanoke).

This would make transportation easier between the portals and would, hopefully, reduce the number of ganking deaths of the average, non-PvP minded Minerealmers.

Seeing as Nether is FULL PvP with no rules other than No portal camping and griefing(i think greifing...), You really Shouldnt be complaining.... you entered the nether, regardless of why, knowing that there are most likely people that are on the roads that will kill you.

Now. The web, sounds hoprrible only because, groups like Ceteri will most likely have 2-3 members on each road, either asking for toll again or straight up killing anyone on the road...

My suggestion to this is, if you dont like pvp and dont want to be killed, take the long way.

Sounds like a good idea. The only way it is going to happen is if someone builds it. Good luck with that.

The road to Abyssus from Spawn city already has nothing to do with Roanoke. You just pass the junction to Roanoke on the way by. Also as one of the owners of Roanoke I can tell you we have zero interest building anymore Nether roads.

I'll do you a solid though. The Roanoke Nether portal is at coords X 620 Z 420. Go through a different portal and don't use the roads.

What you don't get is that even groups like Ceteri can only camp so many branches. Unless you have....well, 22 routes, as you said, 2-3 members (let's go with 3, worst case scenario), that would need 66 players to camp all the routes between the 7 main portals. This would make it harder to successfully camp the roads.

There is a complex and constantly deserted web of tunnels already in existance.....the caverns of the nether. You should really learn to use them.

Flanny, when did he ever complain? He was merely making a suggestion. This was never a "I IZ GETTING KILELED!!1!" thread. Quit trying to make everyone look like a villain.

Actually, this would be ideal for preventing all routes from being camped. Sure they would spread out initially. However, they would soon regroup when a large oponent started picking them off piece by piece. Small groups would be easier to fight, and a large group would be easier to avoid. Things would be more fun for all.

I'm glad to announce that Ceteri will soon be taking this project underway. Widening of the Spawn--->Abyssus road has already been completed.

Good idea, but wouldn't the campers be banned once spotted? Sure, you might be the first ones to see them, but ONE death will get them kicked/banned. Just press F2.
