/forbidden <word>

Sometimes help bot takes offense to some strange words. Many people have different standards of 'not vulgar'. Whatever the case, it would be nice to have a safe way to check if a particular word is acceptable, without having to put it in public chat. Thus, I propose a command that runs a word through the same algorithms as help bot, without displaying it publicly, then returns to the user whether it's clean or not. The insanely fancy version could even send you what substring trips the filter, so that we're not completely lost as to why something like 'chestfuls' is bad. For that matter, help bot could do that substring part with the normal warnings.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Although I haven't been on the server all that much recently I've seen a few screenshots on the forums of some of the help bot "testing" being done in the public chat. These /forbidden command and substring identification ideas would not only reduce the amount of this, but give people who get banned by help bot for using foul language absolutely no excuse for doing so.
However, like several other people have mentioned in related threads, it does seem like help bot could use an actual word filter in addition to the above suggestions to completely eliminate any chances of an undeserved ban. Even if help bot does warn people what part of a word is deemed inappropriate, people shouldn't be unable to use perfectly acceptable words like "analog" in their proper context simply because they contain words considered foul by an automated moderator.

The only problem I see with this is that very few people will think to stop in the middle of a conversation to see if their word choice includes a forbidden word. Especially since most of the foul language happens when people are worked up about something making them even less likely to stop to verify their verbiage.
It's a good idea I just don't think it'll get used when it'll actually be needed.

If analogy or damn gets you banned, I doubt I'll talk anymore.
