Trade Room Glitch

Trade rooms are not as safe and secure as you think they are.

If the trade room door is closed people can still access the chest in the room from outside by knocking out a block in the wall and then quickly clicking on the chest to open it before the block respawns.

I know there has been suggestions such as put more than one block inbetween or move the chest to the other side etc., but this will still not solve the problem as chests can be accessed from 3 blocks away, meaning that the chest can be opened from a trade room next door.

The only reasonable soloution to this problem I can see is to move the chest to the other side of the room and make each room two blocks wider. This would result in the chest being unreachable from the corridoor and the rooms next to it.

Problem solved (I hope) = Safer trade for everybody!


EDIT: You can also access the chests from the roof by digging the block underneath you and click on the chest to open it. A fix to this could be to make the roof two blocks thick

Somebody please fix this. It's happened 3 times already (Customers complaining that they never got the items after I placed it in the chest).

But, I have found that you can get to the chests by dropping through the roof. When you dig the block underneath your feet, you fall through and there is a short window of time where you could possibly pick up an item on the floor before the block in the roof respawns and puts you back on the roof.

Adding another block to the roof should solve that issue--if someone tries to break through the upper block, they'll land on the lower block, and the broken area will be replaced before they get through the second layer.

IIRC new players spawn there... although they probably don't have the tools needed to try breaking through. Also, it's probably possible to lag-jump up there from the hole in the ceiling directly above the /spawn point--it's only 3 or so blocks above the floor.

I'm pretty sure lag-jumping is bannable.

How did you reach the roof?

You can also reach the roof by backing up right next to the windows in trade area and logging-out and then back in. You will be on the roof when you log back in.
But, this doesn't work all of the time.

EDIT: In fact now that i'm trying this, is seems that it has become alot harder to do! It is still possible.
