New Trade Area Doors?

Over the past few weeks, myself and I'm sure many other people have been interupted during a trade at the trade centre next to spawn.

The wooden doors that are currently on each of the four trade rooms allow people to come and go freely, even if they are not involved with the trade.

They tend to walk in just as your giving stuff to the buyer, and the snatch it up for themselves.

I noticed one of the rules was don't disturb other players, so I'm assuming this means during trading aswell?

So here's my idea:

For each of the trade rooms, an iron door would replace the wooden ones. A very simple redstone circuit would link the door to a lever which would be placed inside the trade room.

When both seller and buyer are in the room, they can flick the lever, closing the door - eliminating the disruptions during trading.

When they have finished, they simply flick the lever again, opening the door allowing them to get out, and ready for the next trade to take place.

The only problem is if they close the door inside the room and do /trade or /home and now the door is locked and no one can open it. I guess that this could easily be fixed by disabling commands like /kill, /trade, and /home. Then they would have to open the door to leave. People still could log out while in the trade rooms with the doors locked though, which would cause the same sort of problem.

In theory it would work, but then you would still have some trolls who would just go in them and lock the door by themselves leaving people without any rooms to trade in.

I would say there should be a master switch to open all the doors. Not near to the trade stalls but across near where you spawn when you /trade. Even if you could go down to a different spot to turn it off.

The whole trolling issue about shutting the doors and not opening them again could be solved by setting up a redstone circuit to the outside of the room, so a mod can place a lever to re-open the door?

And also the mods can see who last actived the door from the inside maybe?

That would just put more strain on the Mods and Admins we have. Panthers already cracked.... Who says it won't be Rokkr or Kero or S2. Not saying that they will but you never know. I say it is an all around bad idea. Add a poll to this topic. I want to see how this will turn out.

There is 2 more things that need to be added to the poll. 1. Kill switch open to the public. 2. Kill switch for Mods/Admins or trusted supervisor. The trusted supervisor would have to have building rights so it probably wouldn't work.

Edit: Don't bother with the trusted supervisor. It was a bad idea. Only Mods/Admins. Anyways I still think the idea isn't the best no offense.

The poll for now is to see if people would like an iron door system in trade. The finer details such as kill switches, over-rides etc... can come later. :)

Okey-Dokey. I honestly like the wooden doors for simplicity. If you don't like /trade then don't trade I guess.
