It has come to my attention that there are obviously a lot of people with see through texture packs on the survival multi-player server. The reason is because diamonds sell ridiculously easy for 50 rc each. Just a moment ago I bought a stack of diamonds for 30 rc per diamond, and that same day bought another stack for 37 rc per diamond. I believe most people who sell below 50 rc are potential hackers and a lot of the people who do sell for 50 are hackers but this doesn't mean legit people wont sell for 50 rc either. But they are forced to because of all the people with invisible texture packs on this server.

What I would think a good function to implement is to allow mods/admins to get a notification that player X has mined too many diamonds in a short period of time and the mod/admin would then check on that player and might notice that player is mining straight to the diamonds instead of mining randomly and they can handle it from there.

I personally will not legit mine any diamonds until the economy gets a little better with diamonds. (Also im not assuming im going to use a invisible texture pack to obtain any diamonds, I just wont mine them at all but instead, will buy them for as cheep as they sell 'em).

Maybe if that notification system is too complex to implement the idea of typing in a command to be displayed a list of people below 16 blocks to bed rock (diamond level) sounds a bit less complex and mods/admins wouldn't be annoyed with notifications.

Congratulations for finding out something that people have known about for ages. You truly are an astute one. I'm also glad you're offering to help by not mining. Doing nothing is truly the best way to protest.

I also love how you say that someone else should program an addon so that the mods and admins could do more work, instead of doing something yourself to help. Should we also pay Mexican day laborers to build your house, and have admins spawn you free realm credits for you?

I cant do anything because im not a mod. Otherwise I would be checking on everybody. Also, if that would be too hard to implement, would it be easier to implement a list of players below 16 blocks to bedrock? (near diamond area)

Also, as a non mod player, what am I supposed to do? Tell all the admins/mods people who sold me diamonds for this much and call them texture pack users? This seams stupid.

Oh and im not asking you guys to do this for me, its for everyone on this server so they can have a better experience.

Here's a thread in which I took the time to prove that a person is using an Xray pack in order to assure he stayed banned. I also collected this evidence while "banned".

thats just turning one person in. and hundreds of people play on minerealms a day and a good percent of them could be invisible texture pack users. Also obvious duping has nothing to do with people using invisible texture packs to mine diamonds. I believe if a function was implemented for mods/admins to type something like /players mining and would be displayed a list of people below 16 blocks (near diamond area) would be really helpful to stopping these texture pack users.

im a bit new to this server, i dont have experience with knowing who is using invisible texture packs or what not so i wouldnt know how to report someone who is obviously using texture packs to obtain diamonds unless they tell me (which is very unlikely)

in your example is someone really stupid, there are people who try their best to stay hidden when mining diamonds and will probably get away with it until a mod/admin catches them which is why im suggesting to make it easier for mods/admins to catch them.

Really, you've done nothing to help and openly say you plan on doing nothing to help, then say that that Intelli needs to program multiple addons and mods need to spend hours in order to monitor people. During this your idea of helping is to "LOLOL NOT MINE DIAMONDS I'M HELPFUL".

like i said, im new, i am trying to help by bringing a simple idea to the table, mods/admins DO perform random checks on players, but the problem is there are sometimes 120 people on at once. And they are simply looking for rule breakers/hackers. and only a fraction of those 120 people are diamond mining and they have to get lucky on that fraction by hunting through people just monkeying around on the server when they could just type something and a list shows them who are mining diamonds and hunting these people using texture packs would be much easier.

I dont know how this makes me selfish but I just want this server to be a better place. Im not desperate to find diamond miners using texture packs so im not going to go mining looking for people that are using texture packs, that would be a waste of time. Maybe I could make a list of people who sells diamonds too cheap, but if an admin/mod checks on them theres a chance they probably arent using a texture pack at the time.

How am I trying to paint myself as a hero? I just thought it was a good idea. Again like I said, I dont want anyone to work for me, it was to help out the server's economy. Im not very concerned to go out of my way to stop these people, but that doesnt mean I won't report them when I see them.

just take a moment to think about what im trying to say, its nearly impossible to tell who is using texture packs to mine diamonds because they are very deep down and could be scattered anywhere in the world, and they cant be tracked unless you teleport directly to them.

Other than that the only other proof could possibly be how low they sell their diamonds for. I have already formed a list of people who sell below 40, but this is an inefficient way to hunt them so they just remain suspects.

I will take note of your suggestion to do some research to help contribute better to finding them, but all I was trying to do was give you guys an idea.

About the not mining diamonds, it makes no sense to mine diamonds to trade for credits because someone who just uses a texture pack will on the spot sell them for a lower price than I would be trying to sell them for.

Also, I've been avoiding this the entire time, but you don't know how texturepacks work. They only load ores that have open face, ala lava and cave systems. You are thinking of an Xray hack.
