[IMPLEMENTED] Player Cap

Each day there is constantly 120+ people on at any given time, at the moment there is 172 people on and counting. Almost all of them are newbies and griefers. I think that we should implement a limit to the amount of players, but still allow regulars to log in at any point in time. Maybe we could have a sort of "group" of regulars that you automatically join after playing for 2 weeks on the server. This is only an idea with lots of room for improving. Post all thoughts down BELLOOWWWWW

This will never happen. Its the same thing as a whitelist, it keeps new players away. Don't get my wrong, I love the idea but it won't happen

Minecraft, let alone Minerealm is not an MMO. It just can't have 150 people on the server where everything can be created or destroyed.

No a whitelist you cannot login unless you have permission. I feel this will limit the amount of players at a given time- it doesn't have to be too little players on, the limit could easily be around 120, give or take some. This will
A. Reduce overall lag
B. Make people want to join the server more.
Let me elaborate on point B. If a lot of people are trying to get on the server, it limits the amount they will get to be online. Thus, they will crave to play on our server. An analogy is when you are choosing cereal for the week. If you buy four to five boxes as opposed to one or two, you will not want that same cereal after a week or so, and it will sit in your closet unwanted. The same concept is here as well. After all, humans will always want that which they cannot have.

Wait. Let me get this striaght.
Say that the cap is 120 people. There are two people trying to log on, a new person (under two weeks) and a regular (first log on was at least two weeks ago [this can be changed: must log on so many times?]) and a spot opens up (someone logs off).
The regular is given instant acess while the new person still has to wait. Kinda like a fastpass or Express Pass at Disney/Universal.
Did I get that right, aguy?

The first person to click "connect" gets in. Simple as that.

No cats, I meant the cap for new players. Regulars will have no cap. And this isn't the same thing, because before the summer rush of new players there was not usually 60 people, and less before that. The numbers can be changed around, but I think there should be a cap for NEW players, not regulars.

There is currently a cap of 150 I believe. The number of players shown in chat include the number of players currently reading chat on the website.
