[REJECTED] Panthers17nfl's Realm Credits Ideas Thread

This thread is for all ideas related to additional uses and implementations for Realm Credits. I will list the ones I have heard / thought of so far, and then list the pros and cons of each. Provide your own feedback & ideas if you want to!
Realm Credits for $$$
The idea was proposed that Realm Credits could be able to be purchased with real money. 100% of all proceedings go to MineRealm, of course.
Pros: It would allow players to gain an edge on the economy by sacrificing a little real-life cash. Furthermore, with widespread use, it would benefit MineRealm financially to a great extent.
Cons: It would allow for economic abuse. Players could easily be rolling in upwards of 30,000 Realm Credits to use to buy diamonds with. This drives the value of RC's down until they are eventually worthless. This would have to combatted by having the real world money only provide a little bit a Realm Credits, which would be counter-intuitive because it would demotivate players from buying it. We would have to settle for something like $1/500RC's or something.
Uses for the Tax
(Unfinished section. A Lottery was one idea.)
Upgrades for Realms
The idea was proposed that realm Credits be used to provide special upgrades for realms. I thought about this, and could only come up with one within the few minutes I spent writing this:
Working as a Team (2,000 RC?): Every 1.0 RC's earned by any member of a realm provides 0.5 RC's to the leader of the realm as well.

This perk by itself is almost completely useless, so we need to think of more :P

While I would like for the server to be well off financially, I feel like being able to purchase RC's with real money would make realms too easy to obtain thereby defeating the intended purpose of the new system. Though I suppose you could make the RC's real life price somewhat steep to offset the ease of obtaining them in this manner.

An obvious upgrade could be a realm warp, but I have a feeling those were removed in 3.0 for a good reason. Also, you would probably need to limit it to one realm warp per person. Otherwise a player who is a member of multiple realms with warps would be able to get around the map far too easily. I'm not really a big fan of this idea, but it was the only thing I could think of this early in the morning. :p

I would like the ability to make my chests public while keeping the blocks protected, so I would support an upgrade idea that enables that.

tl;dr I like upgrades

I kinda like where eagle was taking the idea, it doesn't have to necessarily 'upgrade', but more or less customize the realm. Customization and Upgrades for Realms.

Buttons, pressure plates, and doors can only be used by realm members.

Buying realm warp is definitely a great idea.

Realm members can use TNT in their realm.

You could get .6 of a credit instead of .5 when you build/destroy in your own realm.

You could enable pvp for everyone who enters your realm - kill unwanted greifers.

Alot of people have been talking about the 10% of credits that is lost durring trade goes into the lottery? I believe this is a bad idea because there would be no drainage on credits. But what I think would be a better idea is to do 10% of the 10% credits into a lottery. That way there would be still a drainage of credits and there would still be a lottery. But id rather go with the way it is now. Now is the best way.

How about for 5000 credits you can remove or reduce the amount lost when giving credits between members of the realm?
Well worth it if you ask me, especially considering the cost of giving credits in any decent amount.

This could work, but then people would just temporarily allow people they're trading with to have build rights, and then snatch it away after they get the credits.

For this, I think I might have found a solution. Maybe, there could be a limit on the amount of Realm Credits you can have.
There would be set amounts of Realm Credits to buy, 20,000 being the maximum amount. If you have too many credits already, you would not be able to buy 10,000, 20,000, etc.

Uses For Tax

Not sure what is meant by tax. Is it the 10% fee when giving people credits? If it is, here is an idea for the tax:

Bank: At the end of each week you will get 5% of the 10% fee back. The other 5% will be saved At the end of each month, you will get the other 5% from each week. Ex:
You give 100 credits to someone. The fee is 10 credit.
You do this for each week of the month. Each week you get 5% back. 5% of 10 is 0.5 credits.
At the end of the month you get 2 credits back. 0.5 x 4 = 2




Upgrades for Realms

Of course there will be realm warp as an upgrade. I thought of a couple upgrades that would be cool:

Quick Gain: Everyone in the realm gets double then Realm Credits when blocks are broken. This lasts for 24 hours.

Double the Stuff: You get double the loot on all blocks except for Glass, Diamond, Iron, Gold, Lapis and Obsidian. This would be good for gathering materials for building, but not so good for getting rich. Lasts 24 hours. Not sure if possible.

I read all the comments and this is what I have to say.
It is my opinion so you can disregard if you don't like what I have to say.
I agree, I would love to help MineRealm financially so I approve of Realm Credit Vs Real Cash. But, it could also destroy the stability of the economy we have right now.
To counter that, we can, as the person said above, to set a maximum amount a person can buy.
My suggestion is that the maximum should be 10,000 Realm Credits Per Month. (More or less).
I need the people reading this to consider that I said "Per Month" so I said 10,000 Realm Credits. It's not outrageously low or high. But I want people to work to get credits, not just spend real cash and buy all the realms they want and get all the items they want.
