Ok, I've been tossing this idea around for a while now but i have decided to see what you think. I know Intelli might be thinking about it.
Vent as a lot of you might know is a type of group calling software. it is similar to skype, but its much better for groups from what i have heard. (I have never used vent!). It allows large groups of people to communicate using their voice. A microphone is required. If you have no microphone you just keep using the minecraft message system.
Of course, just because we could have a vent server does NOT mean you would have to be on it. I think that it would have to be age restricted as talking to strangers is well, not advised for most young people (mainly talking about not yet teenagers).
So, why shouldn't we have a vent server? There is no drawbacks if it is used responsibly. What do you think?

Vent: It's basicly like a Xbox Live Party system, you don't have to use the chat system you just talk through a microphone.

I like the idea, but what do you suppose the age limit would be? We have alot of players who are 12 or 13, who arent really stupid, Im 13, I think Mastergm is 12... I think he vent, if we get one, the restrictions on who would be able to get in should be based on maturity, and not age, theres a difference.

The age limit on voice things isn't much for maturity than the fact that nobody likes listening to little kids' squeaky voices.

Of course! I dont think anyone would stop you. No body isn't wanted! (except people with nothing useful to say [like mic spammers])

I think this would work. I am twelve at the moment (but will be turning 13 on the 10th of July ) so I would have to wait under a month but this would work. Yesterday shad0w, connor, and I were on voice chat while we were in the Nether discussing our base and whatnot. This way we wouldn't have to use an entirely different program!

I hit puberty when I was 11 =), now I'm 16 .

I could explain things about my puberty start and pattern but it is to be honest kind of gross and I will probably get a forum ban, plus it is to close to my private life.
