Exactly as the title says. If anyone knows why this isn't already a thing, please share.

It's just one of those random MineRealm things.

Maybe it was because back in the day when water evaporated in the nether intelligent decided not to change it when the game changed (or maybe its a bukkit thing?)

Not just a bukkit thing, i had a lot of fun on single player exploiting the glitch (making all the lava lakes into the biggest obsidian grinder.) Anyways, I vote yes, the only place you would most likely have it in your realm, because of the possibility of nether grief is high.

No reason for any crops not to be broken by water.

Sorry, it was a double-negative. I was agreeing that all crops should be water harvestable.
