[REJECTED] Idea: Rule Against Home Camping During "The Mist"

My Idea:
In light of the new implementation of "The Mist", a global activation of PVP regardless of public or private lands, I suggest a few extra guidelines be instated.

House Camping.
Upon activation of "The Mist", I suggest that the camping of the interior of a player's home (exact /home location or otherwise) be illegal for the safety of said player who would possibly be vulnerable to such an attack.
To further elaborate, this would include the entry of another player's home prior to "The Mist", then taking advantage against the disablement of buttons during "The Mist", which was implemented as a small level of protection (I assume).

Positive effects
The current playerbase with its currently lowered morale would be able to take comfort that their own home is a safe haven from attack, lest the attacker face consequences of unruly PVP.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please consider its implementation in the future. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to post below. Again, thank you.

I voted no. The whole point of the mist was to give minerealm a sense of danger at night. It's not meant to be a time where you can be safe. You're supposed to feel like you are in danger of being slaughtered while the mist is active.

I support this rule. My home (until now) was completely burglar proof (Activating the door required you to be off a pressure plate outside of the door). It is very elaborate, the best I could think of as a lock (the door is only open about 1 second, maybe less). I doubt many players would bother with something like that. The real question is how the rule would be implemented. There are other ways of invading someones house (like enderpearls). Would those players be breaking any rule as they are not outside the house until the PvP is turned on. I suggest that players simply check their house when locking it up. That begs the question of logging in after the PvP is enabled. Maybe TP players to spawn if they are in a private realm that they do not own or have privs. to (now I am rambling, I don't think that should be implemented). The issue is complex, perhaps Legit was right.

We are simply left with the same dilemma as nether spawn portal killing.
I intended to make killing someone within their own home illegal like the portal, but implementation would seem difficult.

It would suck to have someone come hunt you down at home totally geared up plus pots when you think you are totally safe and then bam!

How do you even enforce this? What if I own one of the four spawn realms and decide to put my /home on it and people come kill me? If this is a thing then that is illegal even though my home is at spawn.

No one is even going to bother to do this anyways. Mist is unpredictable and you are not going to shadow someone for hours on end at their home in the middle of nowhere in the hope that it happens and they don't see you. Now if mist was predictable, say every hour on the hour, then ya maybe.

I was unaware of the unpredictiveness. This is news to me.
Now as for your first point, I do live at spawn, and would find it very unpleasant if I was invaded by players intent on killing me for the sake of loot and killing.

Edit: The pathetic image of children running to their homes yelling "base!" when The Mist rolls in has me very disheartened at this thread. It is rendered useless.

Or you can just set your /home as a 3-block-long passage in a wall, where your /home is the backmost block, then ahead of you is a pressure plate, and then an iron door. YOu could even surround it with glass so you could see anyone in your house. It's not really that difficult, I used to do that myself.

Although I am flabbergasted by the existence of the mist, I voted no simply because I don't think staff should bother themselves with such disputes. Just keep in mind that the mist exists, and don't participate in it. By being on the server while it's underway, you could potentially be participating.
