Before you give your input please read all of this. This is not a official suggestion, I just want to put this out there and see what the community thinks.

This land wipe will leave us with 50x50 really out of place realms. Most of you have seen what the public land wipe left us with.

Idea
The idea is very basic. Allow players to wipe realms even after the wipe, however they would only be able to wipe beta 1.8 land and once it was updated it would no longer be available to be wiped. The wipe will leave us with a disasterous looking map and over time many of the realms that were privately owned and didn't get wiped will disband, leaving random public 50x50 realms all over the map. Allowing players to do a command to wipe a public realm will be very useful in making the map have more in sync 1.7 land. I also am suggesting to allow players with private realms to wipe them, so they do not have to sell them.

Benefits
-Players will get to preview the realms they own after the wipe, to decide if they want to wipe it.
-Players can wipe old disbanded and griefed realms.
-Map will flow together much better as time goes by and realms disband.

Cons
-Players could wipe nice public land builds (Remember they can only wipe a 1.8 beta realm, which usually when public is very griefed) however either way the initial public land wipe will take out a lot of nice builds.

There would be hardly any cons to this, with lots of benefits. And if it seems like this would give players to much power, staff could be put in charge of this. Please ask questions if clarification is needed, and note its not final we will do a public land wipe but its very likely. Please feel free to give input on this.

In my opinion, if you're going to wipe the map, wipe it all. The map currently looks disgusting due to a mixture of the aforementioned realms that stick 30 blocks out of the ground and general destruction. If people can't stand to start over, they shouldn't be playing Minecraft.

I like this alot. Im for a full wipe IF we get to keep our stuff, like say at least one realm or maybe 4 per person.

Give everyone one DC to transfer over (no dia to try and hold the economy) and wipe the lot.

How about we keep our realms but the whole map gets wiped that way people don't have to lose completely! I meant of course that peoples stuff will be gone.

if you are going to wipe the whole map , give us one realm to hold our stuff, I share a lot of stuff with new people and have a lot of animals I would not want to get wiped , I have diamonds but not enough to sell , I do not agree with loosing all of my stuff that is the worst suggestion on this yet.

Also give us warning so people can tear up the subway to re use the tracks when it is rebuilt.

Well, this thread sure got hijacked off-topic quickly.

This is supposed to be a discussion of the idea put forth by 08 in the initial post, which assumes that a public-only wipe is the solution that would be taken.

There have to be half a dozen other still-smoldering arguments about full wipes in other threads. It's okay to allow there to be one thread discussing a different option.

Please, only vote if you actually have an opinion pertaining to the statements/suggestion made in the initial post.

Don't vote just because you don't agree with public wipe flat out.

I don't want a PR wipe, but if there is one, this seems like it could be useful. +1
