[REJECTED]Suggestion: Add mob and item stack count to /realm

Pretty simple suggestion that would be helpful when making sure that you've covered up all the caves in a realm, or making sure that you don't have too many mobs/item stacks floating around in your realms. An example of using this would be if you had a cow farm/pig farm setup in one realm. When you breed the cows, you want to make sure that there are only 50 cows before breeding the pigs. This can be done with F3, but checking mobs that are outside your field of vision cannot be. Item stacks simply canoot be done with F3. Typing /realm would bring up the following box:

Owner: SuperCreeper007
Coords: x, y
Guild: Akatsuki
MOTD: lol
Status: Private. You own this realm. Mobs: 100, Stacks: 25

This would only work if it was a private realm and you owned it (or, when realm leaders are implemented, if you area leader :D)

This could potentially be abused to find dungeons. And as far as the item stack thing..what exactly would be the purpose of that? Sorry if I'm missing something.

Not necessarily. Mobs only spawn from dungeons if a player is close enough. Further complicating the use of this feature for dungeon-hunting is the fact that it would also include mobs spawned anywhere other than dungeons. If your mob counter suddenly jumps up by 3, sure, it may be a dungeon... but it could also be a couple of mobs spawning in a dark tunnel or even a couple of chickens on the surface.

Item stacks are limited by the same system as mobs - if too many are in a realm, they will start to despawn.

With regard to implementation, I would guess this is feasible... the number of mobs/items already has to be counted for use in the despawning system, so wouldn't it be just a matter of displaying that count?

I'm undecided right now. Just wondering, what's the point of it?

Point of mob counter:
Determine when you need to start killing the monsters in an exp grinder, or when your sheep farm has reached maximum capacity.

Point of item counter:
Determine when you need to start picking up items you've recently produced, such as crops from an auto-harvester farm.

Thanks prodigy, and with that a mindless +1

There is a count labeled "E" on the debug screen. It gives the number of entities within view (behind blocks as well) out of the total number of entities in chunks you have loaded. This can be helpful in some cases, such as when grinding, but can be inconvenient for (say) a cow farm.

Thanks eah but I already said this :P

But yeah, as you said, this has cases when it will be inconvinient and when it will be convenient. A farm I am building at the moment is built in such a way that NEEDS this to be implemented, because due to redstone wiring and stuff the animals are in wierd locations and it would be inefficient to go to all of those locations and check and see how many there are in each, and then add that up. Of course, I COULD do this for each harvest, but...... I would much much much prefer this. If you feel the same way, just vote yes :D

EDIT: I checked the poll and I saw the vote was 7 to 5 D: Can someone who voted no tell me why? As far as I can see, there is literally NO downside, and depending on the way Intelli made the plugins, take up maybe 5 lines of code max, since this is already being calculated, it just needs to be displayed.

It's probably that way because most people don't care, and the majority of people who do care about this sort of thing care because they disagree with it strongly. I have no opinion on this, so I didn't vote.

The amount of 'no' votes for this suggestion disappoints me. As previously stated, there seems to be literally no downside to implementing something like this. If someone would care to enlighten me as to why this could possibly be considered a bad idea, I'd genuinely appreciate it.
