This page is a little confusing for newbs like myself, in relation to nether spawn camping.

A lot of comments by Kerovan seem to refer to older rules saying its illegal to kill people in the portal area.
But apparently that isn't the case and killing people in the spawn area is fine.

Not asking for a rule change just edit or delete the posts by staff that give the wrong idea.

kerovan posts the original rules. then in the comments below he is saying things like

"If they are inside the portal area, you are not allowed to kill them"

That makes you think its illegal for someone to kill you as you spawn in. It is not.

From what i can see - It seems like kerovan has posted his rules about spawn camping, and discussed them at length in comments.
Then Intelli (as you see in final post) has edited the rules to ALLOW spawn killing. But all the discussion which indicates spawn killing is illegal has stayed unchanged.

Yeah i only worked this out after I spawned in and got killed instantly.

So more or less you are reading comments from over a year ago? The main post is all you need reading past comments will do nothing but confuse anyone seeing as rules change.

The text of the main post in that thread is correct. Anything in the comments may be outdated. Remember, the original post is constantly updated as rules change, and that post is the only one you can rely on as being correct and up-to-date. Portal camping used to be against the rules, but that is no longer the case.

Q. Can I portal camp?
A. Yes.

In public chat a few months back, Intelli said "PvP is allowed anywhere."
Of course as long as each participant's PvP is enabled.

Rokkr - like i said i was reading a comment on the first page by the person who posted the rules.

If ALL the comments are now misleading maybe re-post the rules without all those old comments? I don't think I'm the only one who might take accidentally take comments by staff on the first page of their own own threads as gospel.

Well you really shouldn't need to read the comments, no one has had a issue until you. Only time I see a issue regarding rules is the link on the signs ingame that leads to some old information that needs to be updated.
