I don't know about you but A lot of people are abusing the Who is Server response. I propose that this should show up as a /profile {username} command. Please tell me what you think of this new idea.

I think you're saying it would show up as a personal message, not in general chat? I support this.

Give it a few days. Once people get over the fact that it's a new feature, it won't be abused much anymore. And I'm already finding it to be useful in some situations.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. /profile already shows most (but not all) of the information that Server gives in response to a "Who is ___?" question. What I get from this is that you are suggesting /profile be changed or added to in some way, but I'm rather confused on exactly what you mean. Perhaps you could give us an example of what you envision /profile would look like with your change.

For everyone who doesn't understand the suggestion, let me try to explain it.

The only extra information the 'who is ...' response gives is whether someone is active, inactive or banned (and whether they are a leader of a certain guild). This information could be added to the /p command instead of having a server response which spams the chat for everyone, including people who don't really care.

I agree with this. Just let /profile include everything "who is" does, and let's be done with this nonsense.

I get what you are saying about it being useful, but it will never just "go away" Then minute somebody uses it for it's intended purpose EVERYONE will use it for it's unintended purpose. It just has to go away, that's the only solution.

I still think it's too soon to make this decision. If this suggestion came up again in two weeks and people were still misusing the feature constantly, I would probably feel differently. But there's no reason to throw a feature away (which time and effort was spent to create) just by unqualified predictions that it will be abused forever and always.
