STOP THE TRAPDOOR MENACE

This is a very minor detail, but it can become extremely painful when you're using trapdoor's en masse in your builds. You may think its weird to use trapdoors a lot, but it is actually a very nice block to use in buildings to add a bit of variation and texture to your builds.

However, its always not very nice to return to your build to see it like this:

Rather than like this:

I propose Intelli adds trapdoors to the CoreProtect mod which Minerealm uses. Although obviously not a major offence, someone repeatedly doing this can easily get on ones nerves, as I'm sure many of you who own spawn realms would know. Allowing mods to check who flipped trapdoors would be ideal.

However, trapdoors are obviously flipped legitimately a lot So the tracking should be very limited. I also know that there are A LOT of trapdoors across the map, and it may be hard to track them all. However, I hope that there is some way that they can be monitored so that people cannot make themselves a pain by constantly flipping trapdoors.

Thank you for your time.

Mitch

I guess if they do it consistantly, it would fall under harrassment, so a ban could be in hand...

I asked Rokkrwolf earlier today if there is a way to check who did open doors/trapdoors. The reply was "No."

This feature will be useful though.

I voted no.

Opening or closing trapdoors should not be bannable. It may be annoying but it's not griefing and most of the people who do it are just trying to play with the trap doors, not harass you. You should try putting up signs asking people not to tamper with the trapdoors or to leave them in their original position. If that doesn't work, you may have to limit public access to your build by putting up a perimiter fence. But I've been on a server that jails you for opening other peoples' doors and it's the most frustrating thing ever and it should not be bannable in my opinion.

Voted no because it's a minor inconvenience to the player at worst, and would just be a waste of staff time. Banning due to flipping of trapdoors is a bit lame as well.

Not to say that people should do it - but it's really not a big issue.

I used to have a lot of trapdoors in my realm, because they have a lot of great characteristics for creating elegant facades. However, when every single one of them gets moved out of position daily... I gave up trying to use them anymore. However, I cannot see having a log of trapdoors being worth anyone's trouble.

A minor annoyance repeated constantly is essentially the same as harassment which is a bannable offence.

If this was traceable it would be possible to ban those who harass people by constantly flipping their trapdoors.

I don't think this is needed. Trapdoor flipping is nothing like chest/normal greif. It's a pain to fix, yes, but I feel it would be a waste of script.

Key phrase: "repeated constantly." Somebody who runs through your realm flipping some trap doors for fun should not be banned. He's not trying to harass you or make life difficult, he's just opening and closing doors. I understand your issue if the same person is repeatedly doing it just to mess with you, but having a way for staff to track repeated offenses without bans would require some major coding work to contain what is, it seems to me, a relatively minor and contained problem. Think about it. First of all, there would have to be some sort of new rule added, making it so that 3 times flipping doors or something will lead to a ban. Then there would have to be a system added so that staff members could add "strikes" or something similar against players in a way that other staff members could check them and see if a person is a "repeat offender."
