[REJECTED] Idea: Private Buttons

I have a pretty decent chicken farm and a good zombie spawner as well. I wanted to protect these by putting a building around the ladder hole that leads to both of these things. I put a iron door on my house so people could not get in and kill all my chickens. The next day my friend (who doesn't have rights to my realm) got into my place and could kill my chickens. The first thing that poped up in my head is why can other people use buttons on your realm?

It would be nice to be able to have a way to protect your stuff by usuing a iron door and just having a button to open it.

So plain and simple, I would like buttons (and maybe switches) to be private to people on your realm only

Thanks, River33

Something similar to this was suggested some time ago, where buttons were public, but players could assign 'costs' to them, so when another player pressed it, credits would be drawn from their account. I don't remember the outcome though.

What about subway stops, etc.?

I think the button fees was rejected, but might be implemented later.

The problem with this is that some people use buttons for their redstone contraptions (like combo locks) that they want people outside the realm to be able to use. You may say use pressure plates, but space does not always allow for that. Implementing this would break many existing redstone devices on the map.

Making levers private might work, because those usually aren't used in good combo locks or public redstone devices. But private buttons would cause problems for some people.

It is VERY annoying when someone block jumps into your farm and pushes your button for your automatic farm. Then you have to go and make it noob/hacker proof and shove the button in chest and label the button spot so you don't put the button in the wrong spot, OR you have to block out the button and that makes your whole room with the button look ugly.

Forgot about this.

If buttons were made private, it would basically break the entire subway system. So no..

Use redstone torches to control auto farms. Problem solved.

An alternate solution could be to use a redstone torch or a lever as a "key". By removing the key, the locked device can only be activated by players with rights on the given realm.

I like having buttons public because it enables the use of pin code circuits ::)

Yeah it would totaly break my Redlights in the subway which means basically this : this being implented = No more subway.
