[REJECTED] Remove autoban for griefing

We've all seen the bans. Now, as I understand it, it works like this: breaking a chest placed by someone else causes you to be banned. Possibly only in a public realm. In any case, although I see the potential benefit from this, I also see many, MANY cases of people trying to remove dirt huts with chests, or move their friend's or alt's chests and getting autobanned. Although I admire Intelli for trying to automate this, I think it will cause more harm than good in the long run.

If I'm stupid, tell me.

Cheers!

There are way too many variables in what is defined as "griefing" for an autoban to ever be accurate.

I say remove it or tone it down somehow.

It's only temporary and designed to crack down on a certain group of griefers attacking the server recently.

I had a feeling that's why it was implemented. If so, then for the time being I'd say leave it up. Definitely take it down after the griefers have given up, though.

Let's hope they will stop soon.

A team of griefers? I think the code needs to be revised, as for the griefers they have many alts and are professionals. I have already figured out the trigger and Im sure they have too :( I advise everyone stay on their guard, and we should keep tabs on the amount of people who go through the random teleporter at once. If the same group of people goes through over and over again then it's probly them. If you want to help be semi staff you should drink invisibility potions and go through the teleporter ;)

Or you could just follow them like a noob and ask "can I join" very frequently. Then post ban requests if they break any of the rules.

1. I still don't understand why someone would waste so much time just to harass our server over and over again. First off, it's pointless. Secondly, it's completely idiotic. Why would you waste your time doing something as stupid as this?
2. Invisibility potions and over the past few weeks, I've found it life-saving and helpful to carry potions of fire resistance.

still off topic but be on the lookout for people setting others on fire, stealing from chests, and general griefing.
